Vision
The SMart Wind vision is to deliver 4GW of wind fired power generation by 2020.
To successfully deliver this vision, we have brought together some of the most experienced and capable companies in the wind industry. In so doing, we have created a consortium united in its Vision, its Mission and its cohesive set of Values which are fundamental to the beliefs of all those involved in the consortium.
Mission
SMart Wind has a three-pronged mission:
- To be the first in Round 3 to achieve Project Consent
& Commercial Operation - To deliver the lowest cost of energy solution in the marketplace
- To deliver the first stage of the Supergrid.
To achieve its mission, SMart Wind will continue to focus on the areas of thought leadership, supply chain, skills, training and education.
Values
SMart Wind’s key value is that of Safety. It is integral in this industry and our colleagues have been working hard to ensure that we comply with the highest industry standards. We are delighted to announce that Lloyds Register Quality Assurance(LRQA) recently audited SMart Wind’s health and safety management system and have certified that it conforms to the internationally recognised Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS 18001) standard.
In complying with the requirements of the standard, SMart Wind clearly demonstrates that it applies a rigorous approach to Health and Safety across all its activities.
Organisations certified under OHSAS 18001 can show that implementation results in improvements in the efficiency of internal operations and consequently reduce incidents, danger and downtime. Employee safety and the quality of the working environment are actively improved because objectives and responsibilities are made clearer and all employees are prepared to effectively deal with any future hazards. OHSAS 18001 also ensures compliance with current legal requirements, reducing the risk of penalties or possible litigation.
