SMart Futures at Oasis Academy Immingham

Friday, October 03, 2014

Students at Oasis Academy in Immingham were given the chance to learn more about offshore wind power and our proposed Project Two. SMart Wind held the event with intent to help students understand more about interconnecting offshore wind farms and how they can help contribute to the UK’s renewable energy targets.

The event was hosted by SMart Wind and facilitated by Humberside Engineering Training Association (HETA). The focus of the event was to engage students in the Supergrid STEM (Science Technology and Maths) activity and provide them with experience of how the STEM subjects can convert into careers, particularly in the Humber Estuary area which has seen large growth demand for jobs in engineering and renewable energy, in part due to the offshore wind projects proposed and being built in the north sea.
